The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) is one of the UK’s largest medical labour unions, representing more than 350,000 nurses and hospital/care staff.
With a century of history as a union, the Royal College of Nursing has become the face of nursing standards, tirelessly campaigning for good working conditions and care. As well as its focus on giving nurses a fair deal as workers, the union educates nurses and runs informational events dedicated to promoting awareness of conditions in both the NHS and private sector care.
Known for its council-led administration which sees such important and renowned programmes as the RCN Fellowship for exceptional nurses, the union is emblematic of UK nursing today.
